FREE Webinar Series for Teaching History

This year Sovereign Hill will be running professional development webinars to support teachers of history.  We have an exciting program of topics and speakers to inspire you.  All sessions are run on Blackboard Collaborate and are free for teachers.  Each webinar will bring together a range of experts to offer ideas, resources and tips for teachers in a short and sharp one-hour program.

Upcoming Webinars

Implementing AusVELS History in the Primary School – Canadian Lead PS Trial - Wednesday 20 March, 4.30-5.30pm 

Teachers will discuss their difficulties and successes in delivering AusVELS history in a trial conducted in 2012. Hear about the whole school approach that ended in a wonderful school community history fair.

The Importance of Narrative in History Teaching - Thursday 2nd May, 4.30-5.30pm

Authors Peter Fitzsimons (Eureka The Unfinished Revolution) and  Doug Bradby (The Seriously Weird History Series) will discuss the importance of good story telling in teaching and writing History .
